TAN Registration

In India, tax reduction numbers and collection numbers (TAN) are 10 digits of alphanumeric numbers issued for people who are required to reduce or collect taxes on payments carried out by them under the Indian Income Tax Act, 1961. This number is used In all TDS / TCS returns, TDS / TCS payment challans and all TDS / TCS certificates.

Tan is needed by all individuals because without taxes deducted in the Source (TDS) or the tax collected in the return on source (TCS) is not received by the Tin Facilitation Center. Banks do not accept Challans for TDS / TCS payments if Tan is not quoted.

• Tan has a unique number with lifetime validity.
• Tan eventually used to be reduced as salaries, interests, and dividends. When saving taxes, the Challan type 281 must be used and the 10 digit chocolate number must be mentioned correctly along with the name and address of the field.
• As a TDS certificate is issued by someone or an entity that holds Tan, the tax receiver has the opportunity to find out how much taxes are paid by it.
• Similarly, tax receivers can use this TDS certificate as proof of tax paid in all types of complaints.
• Tan must be quoted on all tax documents.
• Even if someone forgets the chocolate number after obtaining, it can be known by approaching the NSDL webpage on clicking "Get to Know Tan" from the option.
• After the Tan application is successfully sent, the application status can be tracked using the recognition number.
